It criticizes the corruption in the Philippine society, from overpriced items to arms smuggling, covering a wide variety of topics that sometimes include Filipino traditions and beliefs. It is a public service show that aims to inform the people of the current problems troubling the Philippines.

Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay na Kwento is a Philippine award-winning comedy live situational comedy. Dubbed as a reality-sitcom, the show features Michael V., together with his family Elsa (Manilyn Reynes) and Chito (Joshua Pineda), whose "simple and underprivileged life significantly changes when he becomes the lone winner of P700 million in the national lottery." Although it is presumably impossible to win such amount on a single lotto ticket, it actually happened on November 29, 2010 – a winner took home P741.1 million, more than Pepito's prize.

Kanta Pilipinas is a reality singing competition that airs on TV5. It is hosted by Rico Blanco, Rivermaya's former lead vocalist, and by Marvin Agustin. The show premiered on February 9, 2013. It was open to Filipino male and female to solo, duo, trio or group of singers with a maximum of five members. From the initial number of auditionees who passed the regional auditions, 24 of them will proceed to the final auditions round. From the top 24 auditionees, 12 are then selected to become the top 12 finalists whom will then compete for the vetted position of the first ever winner of Kanta Pilipinas.
